- Miami Cerebral Palsy (MCP) an affiliate of United Community Options, formerly known as United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida, was opened in 1984 by UCP of Miami to provide comprehensive residential, medical and rehabilitation services in Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID). MCP provides safe and supportive nurturing homes where individuals receive the care and attention they need to thrive and achieve their highest potential. MCP utilizes an Interdisciplinary approach to provide the best possible care for the people supported with the ultimate goal to help the individual lead a fulfilling and life without limits. Admission Criteria
Individuals must:
- Be diagnosed with a developmental disability that includes Intellectual Disability as a primary diagnosis.
- Have Florida Medicaid or be Florida Medicaid eligible.
- Be in need of 24 hour supervision, coordination, and integration of health or habilitative services.
- Be non-ambulatory or dependent upon a walker or wheelchair for mobility
States may not limit access to ICF/IID service, or make it subject to waiting lists, as they may for Home Community Based Waiver Services.Therefore, in some cases, ICF/IID services may be more immediately available than other long-term care options.
